Lampard Seems to Have Big Plans for Homegrown Everton Talent, Meetings Held

Everton boss Frank Lampard appears to have big plans in mind for Tom Davies having held meetings with the midfielder ahead of his return from injury.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Lampard is keen to keep Davies involved in the Everton plans even though he’s unavailable.

It’s stated that Lampard and assistant coach Joe Edwards have been showing Davies various video clips to help him learn how Everton will play under Lampard.

The hope is that, whenever Davies can return to the pitch, he will be well-versed in the Lampard style and will be ready to slot in seamlessly.

Whether that comes to fruition remains to be seen, but Lampard seemingly has something in mind for Davies down the line.

Davies, 23, has played more than 150 times for Everton and is known for being an energetic, all-action midfielder.

Lampard may be able to get a little more out of Davies in an attacking sense, given that the Liverpudlian has managed just seven goals in an Everton shirt.

The problem is that Davies has been out since November and may not play again this season.

First it was a knee issue suffered against Tottenham Hotspur and then it was a hamstring injury in December, all of which means Davies hasn’t played for Everton in four months.

Is Davies the answer to all of Everton’s problems? Absolutely not.

Davies hasn’t quite kicked on in the way that many expected after he burst onto the scene in 2017, and has been through some tough times at Everton.

You can count on one thing though; if Davies somehow makes it back this season, he will absolutely give his all for the Everton cause.

That’s what Davies has always done in an Everton shirt, and whilst he hasn’t shown the consistent quality to support his endeavour, that attitude could be vital for Everton.

Whether it’s this season, this summer, next season, Davies can provide a boost for Everton – and it seems Lampard is counting on him moving forward.
