FUNAM Who Claimed Responsibility For Ortom’s Attack is Foreign-Based and Sponsored to Distabilise Nigeria – Fani Kayode

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to the report of Governor, Ortom of Benue state being allegedly attacked by unknown gunmen.

Recall that, on Saturday, the governor was reportedly attacked by some unknown gunmen who were suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on his farm near Tyo-mu, off Makurdi-Gboko highway.

The governor who confirmed the incident told news men at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi the state capital that he was on inspection tour on his farm when the gunmen dressed in black outfits laid ambush and and started firing shots at his convoy until he managed to escape with his security personnels. However, shortly after the attack, the Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM) had come out to claim responsibility.

In reaction to this claim, Femi Fani Kayode has described the union via his Twitter handle, as a foreign-based, foreign-sponsored foreign-mannered counter intelligence operation whose sole purpose is to distabilise and destroy Nigeria.

He noted that, the union do not represent the Fulani of Nigeria but foreign Fulani who are closely affiliated with ISIS West Africa who often share intelligence and collaborate in joint operations.

He therefore urged federal government of Nigeria to shut down FUNAM and declare them a terrorist organisation and arrest or eliminate all their members and associates before they subjecte the country to another civil war.
