Donny van de Beek Breaks Silence after Absence from Dramatic Everton Win

After missing Everton’s triumph over Newcastle United, player Donny van de Beek had a message for his teammates.

After missing Everton’s stunning triumph over Newcastle United, the former Manchester United star has finally spoken out.

Due to illness, the Dutchman was not included in the matchday squad to play the resurgent Magpies. The match exploded into life in the second half when a fan cable-tied himself to the Everton post, resulting in 14 minutes of stoppage time.

Allan was then sent off for a cynical foul on the halfway line, before Alex Iwobi fired the Toffees to a crucial three points in the ninth minute of added time.

According to his Instagram story, he wrote:

“What a game @everton,” following their return to winning ways. Iwobi’s winner stretches the gap between themselves and the bottom three to three points.

Van de Beek swapped Old Trafford for Goodison Park on deadline day as he became Lampard’s first signing after he replaced Rafa Benitez as Toffees head coach. Prior to the illness, he featured in all of Everton’s matches.
