Sunday Igboho May Be Released on Monday as Buratai Fails to Provide Answers to Questions Thrown at Him by Beninese Authorities

Olainfo has compiled two striking reports on the ongoing trial of Yoruba activist popularly known as Sunday Igboho over alleged passport-related issue in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

In the first report, Olayomi Koiki, spokesman to the activist wrote on his Facebook timeline some minutes ago how Nigeria former Chief of Army Staff now Nigeria Ambassador to Benin Republic, Tukur Buratai failed to provide answers to the questions thrown at him by Beninese Authorities on how Igboho has violated Nigeria constitution.

Recall that Buratai has been accused of lobbying Beninese government to extradited Sunday Igboho to Nigeria to face his trial as prosecuted by Nigerian government.

He wrote; “Buratai the Nigerian Ambassador to Benin was asked to provide:

  1. Evidence that Sunday Igboho is a terrorist.
  2. Evidence of what punishment they served terrorists and bandits from the North.
    Buratai no get evidence.
    Case adjourned until he provide evidence”

The second report contains reasons why Sunday Igboho may be released on Monday by Beninese court as written by Maiyegun general, a Scotland based Yoruba activist.

He wrote;

“Some facts about Oloye Sunday Igboho’s case in Benin Republic

“Oloye Sunday Igboho was not caught with Beninese passport, but original Nigerian passport. It was the interpol in Benin that intercepted him on the order of Nigeria that declared him wanted for committing no crime.

“Oloye Sunday Igboho’s wife, Mrs Ropo Adeyemo is a German citizen; Court has released her and allowed her to continue her journey

“Nigeria went to Benin Republic with an helicopter without landing petmin, to fly Sunday Igboho to Abuja, same way they invaded his home on the 1st of July without any court order,. The government of Benin sent them back to Abuja

“Nigeria is unable to prove a case against Oloye Sunday Igboho. They told Benin court that they wanted Sunday Igboho for gun running and causing problems in Nigeria – no evidence.

“Benin Republic has given Nigeria 20 days to come back with evidences that Igboho committed any crime that deserves him being returned to Nigeria

“Benin Republic has no extradition agreement with Nigeria

“By Monday the 29th, Oloye Sunday Igboho will be in court and may be on his way to Germany after all.

“There is no case against CSI. Yoruba Nation is coming.
