The Rivers state governor, Ezewon Nyesom Wike has reacted to the reports of unknown gunmen invading police stations in Nigeria.
There have been several reports of unknown gunmen who attack police stations majorly some parts of South East and South South, Nigeria. In every attack, there’s always a report one or two police officers killed or injured and weapons carted away.
This actions of the unknown gunmen have now reduced the number of police checkpoints in South East roads as the officers scamper for safety.
Reacting to this, Wike claimed that these gunmen are people they know with their missions. According to the governor;
“People we know are attacking police stations and you say they are unknown Gunmen”.
“The truth is, we know who they are … Are they attacking police stations and officers in Rivers State? No! That’s because I made sure they were completely flushed out of Rivers State”.
“They are no longer here in Rivers State. As long as I remain the governor of this state, no one, group or tribe will attack anyone or police officers” he said.
