I’m Proud to Be a Nigerian Again – Fani Kayode Reacts as Chikun Kidnapped Victims Regain Freedom

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode has expressed gratitude and joy over the latest report of 13 persons kidnapped rescued by Nigerian troops today.

Military source has confirmed some hours ago, the rescue of 13 citizens kidnapped in Gwagwada, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to the state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this today, Wednesday 5 2021 that the 13 Nigerians who were kidnapped on their way to a farm called Tanadi Farm around Bakin Kasuwa in Gwagwada area of Chikun Local council have been rescued by the gallant men of Nigerian Army.

He revealed in a statement that the troops tracked the bandits to the forest after receiving credible intelligence report that the terrorists camped in a forest near Bana village. On getting there, the troops swiftly engaged the bandits in a gun battle and were able to overpower them, which eventually paved way for the rescue of the victims.

Names of the rescued victims include, Kenth Yusuf, Izra Ali, Josiah Luka, Istifanus Suman, Helen Ibrahim, Justina Gofwen, Ibrahim Madaki, Biyaya Yusuf, Sani Bello, Lucy Dada, Anayi Ezekiel, Benjiman Daniel and Musa Usman.

While reacting to the development, Fani Kayode salutes Nigrian Army, Kaduna State Government and the Federal Government for ensuring the rescue of the victims without compromise.

The happy man who couldn’t hide his joy posted on his Twitter page: “Way to go! More of this! I am proud to be a Nigerian again.” He however noted that it’s a must to give credit, commend and applaud the government when it’s due and must also condemn, attack and criticise when it is necessary.
