Former Presidential Aspirant Condemns Hisbah for Confiscating 8,400 Bottles of Beer

Adamu Garba has condemned Kano Hisbah for confiscating 8,400 bottles of beer from the dealer in Northern Nigeria.

The Islamic police has been involved in several reports of confiscating and destroying products that go against the Islamic doctrine in order to maintain and ensure there is high level of compliance by people living in Islamic territories.

Sahara Reporters had earlier reported that, Kano Hisbah officers confiscated 8,400 bottles of beer along Zaria – Kano road. It was gathered that the officers intercepted the vehicle on its way from Zaria to Kano, arrested the driver and seized its contents.

While reacting to the report, the former presidential aspirant condemned the act and urged everyone worried about morality to train his/her family to avoid taking beer and other alcoholic products.

Several Nigerians have been condemning the policy of Northern govenrment using Hisbah police to destroy Southerners products. They said Northern govenrment benefits from the revenue generated from beer which they claim is majorly produced in Southern Nigeria but destroys it when it gets to their territories. Bunch of hypocrites, they said.
