Olainfo has learnt that a Nigerian military man allegedly killed a civilian man who willingly gave him a free ride in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to the source, the owner of the car whose Identity is yet to be verified was shot dead yesterday by a Nigerian military officer whom he gave a ride on his way to Akwa Ibom state.
The incident that claimed the life of the motorist reportedly happened after he picked up the army man from Eleme junction in Port Harcourt on his way to Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom state.
It was gathered that the driver picked up the army man with the hope that he would help him drive through the numerous security checkpoints along the road.

The source confirmed that the criminal reportedly killed the man in order to take his car. And after he had killed the owner, he drove the car down to a hotel in Ukanafun LGA of Akwa Ibom state not knowing that the owner had a tracking device in the car that was already activated by security operatives before embarking on the journey.
Security operatives were able to apprehend him after tracking him to the hotel where he was relaxing. It was also gathered that some military men visited the police station where he was detained today to pick him up for a Court Marshal, later will be released to the police for prosecution according to report.
