Yoruba Nation: Sunday Igboho Reportedly Arrested, Lawyer Reacts

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has been reportedly arrested.

Sahara Reporters reports that the secessionist arrested in a West African country on Monday 19, 2021.

It was revealed Igboho was apprehended by security operatives on Monday night in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

According to the source, Sunday Igboho was said to have perfected plans to flee Nigeria to Germany through Cotonuo to evade arrest after being placed on stop-list by Nigerian government.

He was, however, nabbed by security operatives in the neighboring country.

“He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou.

“They are planning to bring him back to Nigeria.”

However, one of the agitator’s lawyers, Pelumi Olajengbesi representating him and other Yoruba freedom fighters told Sahara Reporters that, he had not received any report of such so he cannot confirm it.

“I will contact Yomi Aliu (SAN) to verify the news,” he said.
