Many Newcastle fans are hoping that the Magpies renew their pursuit of Lucas Paqueta this summer.
Amanda Staveley and her colleagues offered £34 million for the Brazilian midfielder. Lyon, on the other hand, turned it down.
Newcastle eventually paid Lyon a large sum of money for a Samba star, but it was Paqueta’s best friend Bruno Guimaraes who got the job.
In France, the two formed an incredible connection, but when Bruno moved to St James’ Park in January, they were forced to split up.
A lot of fans are hoping Newcastle reunite the duo when the transfer window opens. And AC Milan probably feel the same.
Paqueta formerly played for AC Milan before joining Lyon. The Italians gave him a switch to Europe, signing him from Flamengo in 2019.
He moved to Lyon for €20 million in the summer of 2020, leaving the San Siro. The agreement reportedly included a sell-on clause.
According to Milan Live, I Rossoneri will receive 20% of the fee Lyon get for the 24-year-old – if they decide to sell, of course.
Lyon wants £58 million for Paqueta, according to the Chronicle. That would shatter Newcastle’s transfer record, but it’s a deal that Bruno would be thrilled with.
Milan, who would receive £11.6 million, would also be pleased. As a result, they’ll be hoping for a fresh approach from PIF to sign the Brazil international.
