“They Put New Hijabs Over Their Old Hijabs, All That Matters to Government is What People Will See” – Aisha Yesufu on Freed Jangebe Girls

Barely hours the abducted Jangebe school girls were freed from captive of their abductors, there have been mixed reactions from Nigerians on the report.

Olainfo learnt that, many Nigerians have been criticising the government not applying legal measure to bring back the back the girls but rather paid ransom for the criminals to release the them.

We could recall the Kagara in Nger State and Kankara abduction in Katsina State took the federal government days and paying of ransom to rescue the victims.

However, a controversial and award winning activist, Aisha Yesufu has taken to her Twitter to criticize the government for not doing enough to address the challenges rocking the country and their callousness towards the freed girls.

She noted in her tweet that, the government only ensured the girls put on new hijabs over their old and tattered cloths without minding what the girls have gone through in the hands of their abductors, all that matters to the government is the optics and what people will see, she said.
