Everton defender Nathan Patterson wowed Craig Levein with his performance for Scotland against Poland last night.
Despite a lack of playing time with the Toffees, the youthful right-back began in a back five at Hampden Park and shone.
Patterson was singled out by Levein, who praised his offensive play as the strongest element of his game right now.
Levein praised the teenage right-performance back’s when speaking to the BBC during live coverage of the game.
“I really like when Scotland come down the right,” he said.
“Nathan Patterson has got the better of his opposite man, we just need to keep feeding him the ball. He’s had two shots, a couple of crosses, and been very effective.
“His attacking skills are probably the best part of his game. In a game with wing-backs where you’re trying to attack down the sides, he’s very, very useful.”

As fans, we were sitting and watching this game wondering how on earth does Patterson not get in our side right now?
Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny can only hope of having a similar impact that the youngster had when bombing forward, but realistically they have no chance of that.
Frank Lampard was also hopefully watching and seeing what he can do, and it would be no surprise to see him more after this break.
With big games in hand against the likes of Burnley coming up, Patterson and his ability to get forward wide on the right could catch them cold.
This international break could be a blessing for Patterson, and let’s hope we can see him more between now and the end of the season – could he save us?
