The fearless Yoruba right activist and Fulani Herdsmen nightmare, Chief Sunday Igboho has reacted to the order given by the Buhari federal government to arrest anyone seeing unlawfully with AK-47 gun in Nigeria.
The warrior who said this in a press statement released by his spokesman Olayomi Koiki on Monday, presented his take on the order which directs security operatives to shoot on sight anyone in illegal possession of firearms.
In his words, he expressed delight at the order and claimed action wouldn’t have been taken by the government if not for their efforts and awareness he and other well-meaning Yoruba persons raised over cattles herders unconstitutional activities in the South West.
Igboho further urged the Police, DSS, Nigeria Army and Civil defense cops that having received the directives to kill anyone with AK-47, they should go after the bandits since Cleric Gumi had exposed almost all their hideouts.
The order is not limited to only the South but cut across the Northern states where criminality is fully backed up by their leaders. The order does not direct you to see our fathers and brothers heading to farms with their double or single barrel for protection and kill them, framing them up with a fake report of being in possession of AK-47, he said.
However, he appealed to the security agencies to follow this order accordingly by storming the hideout of the bandits which Sheik Gumi the grand negotiator had already exposed. The activist said, the cleric had made the work easier for the security operatives to achieve in no time. He then urged them not to use the medium to victimise the people of South West otherwise it would be a thing of regret.
