Sabon Gari By-election: PDP Wins APC Stronghold for the First Time in 22 Years

For the first time in 22 years, the People’s Democratic Party PDP has won the All Progressive Congress APC stronghold in the just concluded Sabon Gari bye-election in Kaduna state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has announced the candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Usman Baba as the winner of the bye-election for Sabon Gari constituency of Kaduna State House of Assembly.

The returning officer who announced the final result yesterday, Saturday 19, 2021 said that candidate of the PDP polled 9,113 votes to defeat the opposition party, APC candidate, Malam Musa Musa who got 7,404 votes.

Reports have indicated that it is the fist election ever won by the People’s Democratic Party in Sabon Gari LGA in 22 years.

Olainfo gathered that, Sabon Gari constituency is a major stronghold of the ruling party APC in the state where they poll large number of votes in every election that holds there since 1999 which has just happened during the government of Governor Nasir El-rufai.
