Reactions Trail Afenifere, Gani Adams, Igboho’s Planned Campaign Against Beef Consumption in South West

Almost four days now, a strike was embarked upon by the Northern food and cattle dealers to boycott Southern Nigeria by suspending supply of cattles and food to the region due to the failure of federal government to meet their demands.

It was previously reported that Northern traders who recounted their loss in October 2021 EndSARS protest and Shasha Yoruba-Hausa crisis had demanded a whopping of over 400 billion naira from Nigeria government for compensation otherwise stop movement of foods and cattles from North to the South.

However, in a latest story, a Yoruba embattled activist, Sunday Igboho in collaboration with Aare Gani Adams and Afenifere, a social-cultural organization have planned to boycott consumption of beef in the South West.

The group have concluded plan to launch a campaign againts the consumption. The planned campaign which is tagged “Anything But Cow Day” will be launched on Friday, March 5, 2021. This is a response to South’s boycott by Northern traders as the embargo has entered its 4th day.

Several reactions have trailed the planned campaign as some claim the South cannot do without the North while some insisted that Yoruba are lovers of beef and cannot leave without it.
