POLICE BRUTALITY: Policemen Who Extorted Student of 150k Naira Forget Phone in His Car

Olainfo has learnt from a reliable source that some men of Nigeria Police Force on patrol have arrested a student of University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State and allegedly extorted him of 150k naira.

According to report, the student identified as Victor E reportedly drove out to get food with two of his friends for his ailing girlfriend on February 16, 2021 around Rumualogu-Alakahia car wash area of Obio-Akpo Local Government Area of the State.

The officers stopped them at the check point and ordered him to provide his cars papers. Victor accused the E-crack Unit of the Rivers State Police Command of Extorting him of 150k naira after they threatened to hand over them to the EFCC or butcher them with machetes.

He revealed that they made him cruise round some parts of Port Harcourt city and later forced them use the ATM machine to withdraw 120k naira which is the daily maximum withdrawal.

He further revealed that, he was forced to make it 150k by transferring 30k with his phone to one Udoh Favour bank account which he did. After this unlawful harassment by the E-Crack unit, the officers mistakenly forgot their phone and the withdrawal receipt in Victor’s car which to their arrest on Thursday 25/02/2021 and have been summoned for investigation.
