The rate of academic derail amongst Nigerian students over the years has been overwhelming. Some student’s failures are caused by their negligence while some are caused by the discouraging rate of unemployment in the country as hope of getting job after University is not guaranteed.
This is as a result of poor governance by the people selected to be in the helm of affairs of the country and its Nationals. As students serve as major cause of their failures, some set of Nigerian lecturers are not exempted too.
In Nigeria education system, there are a lot of corrupt lecturers who extort money from students to give them grades to pass a course. While in the case of female students, they must take advantage of their body before they can merit the course.
In a situation where by students are unable to afford Lecturers’ demand, there comes a mass failure as he or she will not hesitate to ensure they all carry the course or courses over. there have been several reports of how lecturers were caught in a s*x scene with female students because of marks. Some have been expose severally by their students for extortion.
This is another report of Lecturer from the Department of Home Science, Nutrition and Dietetics (HSND), University of Nigeria (UNN) who allocated mass Carry-overs to his students for failure to pay for grades which is preventing them from graduating.
Olainfo learnt that the aggrieved students went to drop a Calabash filled with black magic (Juju) from a deity in front of the lecturer’s office (name withheld), because, the number of #CarryOvers they received was outrageous.
They Wrote: “Since Una No Wan Make We Go, Una Go Die Here Wit Us”.
