Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Reacts to Burna Boy, Wikid’s Grammy Awards – Olainfo

The newly emerged Director-General of the World Trade Organization WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has reacted to the victory of Nigeria’s own Burna Boy for the Grammy’s award category he won on Sunday 14th March 2021.

We could recall that Burna Boy alongside Wizkid won a honourable award at the 63rd Grammy Award two days ago. Burna Boy whose original name is Damini Ogulu won the Best Global Music category while Wizkid won the Best Video for his featured single with an international artiste, Beyonce.

Many notable and distinguished Nigerians have been commending the efforts of the superstars for making Nigeria proud and the entire Africa.

While reacting to this, the DG WTO applauded the afrobeats crooners for their tireless efforts to bring the Awards to Nigeria after several attempts by some Nigerian music veterans and legends.

The DG and former minister of finance in Nigeria, described Nigeria’s entertainment industry as a vibrant sector characterised by brilliant and talented artistes and movie actors and actresses.

The former finance minister in Nigeria says such services should be encouraged for export in Nigeria to the outside world.

She disclosed on Tuesday during a meeting with some captains in major Nigerian industries, she opined that with the population educated people in the country, there’s comparative advantage in services with rooms to improve. She noted that, the stars are example of services to export.
