Newcastle United Owners, Bruno Guimaraes React after Sunday Defeat to Manchester City

Newcastle United may have been thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City, but the club’s owners have nothing but praise for the Magpies’ travelling hordes.

On Sunday afternoon, more than 3,000 United fans sang their hearts out as Eddie Howe’s team was decimated by Pep Guardiola and his team.

The Citizens returned to the top of the Premier League thanks to a double from Raheem Sterling and goals from Rodri, Phil Foden, and Aymeric Laporte.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben, co-owners, both turned to social media to praise the United supporters.

On Twitter, replying to a United tweet praising the fans, Reuben said: “Thank you for the tremendous support week in/week out @NUFC – we will come back stronger.”

Echoing that message, Ghodoussi tweeted: “To our away supporters who travelled down….you were magnificent @NUFC #nufc #onwardsandupwards.”

Meanwhile, star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes apologized to his fans on his social media account.

The Brazil international apologized to the supporters for the team’s poor performance and promised that they will return stronger.

He stated, “Fans, you don’t deserve what happened today. Your love for our team is unbelievable. I promise you that in the next season we’ll evolve as a team and we need you, as always, for the next two challenges.”
