Man Decries the State of Roads in Niger State, Urges People to Speak in One Voice Come 2023

A young man from Niger State identified as Yusuf Yakatun has taken to his facebook timeline to share the poor state of roads across Niger State, Nigeria. He call out the people of the state and accused them of being responsible for the odd situations they are encountering in the state. He noted that the quest for power in Niger state is not for good governance but looking for avenue to loot government funds which will stimulate unemployment, inflation and ethnicity issues between the people of the state.

Mr. Yusuf stated that the deplorable state of roads in Niger State could have been caused by the people having failed to recognize and elect a competent leader who has the masses at heart. He said despite series of critics and awareness, government is not making any move to fix these roads and better the lives of the people too. Yusuf claimed that Niger State has produced great men in the military including retired general who can turn things around with just a phone call but seem to ignore and pretend to see the poor conditions government has kept the state.

The political culture and system of governance in Niger State is nothing to write about, they’re characterized by self-centered and insatiable people who do not have respect for human value. All they care about is how to siphon public funds but forget to address the main issues facing the state from deplorable roads to poor economy.

The young man expressed disappointment over the people’s choice to elect the incumbent governor of the state, Governor Abubakar Bello for the second term despite their awareness on his poor performance in the first term. Majority of masses voted for him because of money while some of the elites who supported him did that with the hope of securing appointments and recognition from him according to Ysufus.

He stressed that the total mismanagement of power by their leaders is as a result of their desires to acquire luxury therefore, they fail to deliver or fulfill the vows made to the people. Mr. Yusuf claimed people of Kanuri and Nupe are the major victims of Niger State poor system governance and hope it will serve the people of this region and the entire state a lesson to reorder their steps, come out in single voice no matter their political differences or roots and defeat poor leadership and governance come 2023.

In conclusion, Mr. Yusuf maintained that the Nupe and Kanuri people who constitute the largest percentage of the state’s population but enjoy the lowest percentage of the little infrastructures the state government had implemented. He revealed that this is happening to them as a result of their failure cooperate, unite and speak in one voice. He therefore urged the people of the region and the state at large not to allow politicians to use them against their interest of good governance. Niger State i the home of the retired general, General Ibrahim Babangida and some other notable military heads.
