The federal government of Nigeria has tackled Reno Omokri on his claim that the Loko-Oweto bridge was constructed by his former boss, ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.
Olainfo had recently reported that the former aide shared his old tweet of 2014 to prove that the project was started and almost completed by GEJ before the present government took over.
According to the self acclaimed Buhari tormentor, he took out time to root out the old tweet in order to clarify some uninformed and ignorant persons who are gullible enough to believe whatever the Buhari led administration who are known for claiming other people’s achievements just as they’re claiming and taking credit on Loko-Oweto bridge.
Days after the report, Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi has countered Reno Omokri’s claim. He tackled him with some old tweets on the bridge he shared via his official Twitter handle on April 18 2021 where he also called him a liar.

While reacting to Omokri’s tweet, the SA noted that, there’s no debate over when the construction started or who started it. What’s not in doubt is that it was abandoned at some point like many other projects. The only thing this administration is concerned about is the completion, he said.
Ogunlesi stated that the project was originally awarded to RCC Nigeria Limited on November 2011 during Goodluck Jonathan PDP regime. He then revealed that SURE-P allocated a whopping 30 billion naira in 2013 with and expectatedto to reach completion by 2015 but ended up abandoned.
The old tweets of 2018 after the previous regime which he used to counter Omokri’s claim reveal that the project was 91% completed. The tweet reads;
“Federal Controller of Works, Nasarawa State, Egnr Taiwo explained that the Loko-Oweto Bridge….has reached 91% completion; the main bridge is 1835 kilometres length while the smaller bridge is 220 metres bringing the total length to 2.055km.”
