Everton Goalkeeper Praises Two Teammates after Leicester Victory

Everton defeated Leicester City 2-1 in the Premier League thanks to Vitalii Mykolenko and Mason Holgate goals.

Following Everton’s win over Leicester City, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford hailed the team’s two goal scorers.

On Sunday afternoon, the Blues defeated Leicester 2-1 at the King Power Stadium in a Premier League match. The victory was achieved by goals from Vitalii Mykolenko and Mason Holgate in the first half, each side of a Patson Daka strike.

It was Frank Lampard’s first away win as Everton manager, and his first win on the road in the league in several months. With four games remaining, Everton has climbed out of the relegation zone and into 16th place.

Pickford was a pivotal performer for Everton in the second half, making several crucial stops to keep the away side in front. Mykolenko, who joined the Blues from Dynamo Kyiv in January, has been lauded by the goalkeeper.

Speaking to TV after the game, Pickford said of Mykolenko: “He’s come in, learned English straight away, he’s a top lad and his attitude is top drawer.

“His dedication is second to none.”

Holgate, who scored his third goal of the season, was another player who drew plaudits from Pickford. Pickford claims his centre-back teammate will be “overjoyed” after his game-winning goal.

Pickford explained:  “We won’t hear the end of that, will we? Mason will be on cloud nine after that.

“To win 2-1 is a great result but now we can’t get carried away and we must go again on Wednesday (against Watford)”.
