#EndSARS: #FreeImoleAyo Trends on Twitter as DSS Fails to Release Protester After 41 Days in Underground Cell

The #FreeImoleAyo is taking over the space of the social media as DSS refuse to free man who was detained for participating in the EndSARS protest.

Imole Ayo who is a renowned programmed was arrested by the officers of Department of State Service, DSS in November 2020. He was said to have been arrested around 2am at his residence right in front of his mother and wife.

According to report, he was kept in an underground cell for more than 41 days and later charged to court for disturbance of public peace. DSS has refused to release him since November last year amid court trial.

His case appears to have been forgotten until it was brought to limelight again via his Twitter account @imoleayomichael. The information was shared on via timeline by someone who’s presumed to be his relative or a close ally to let the public know he’s still under detention of the DSS and seek public voice to facilitate his freedom.

The tweet reads;

I'm NOT A CRIMINAL!
I only protected for the betterment of my fatherland.
As a programmer, I should be able to move around with my laptop without fear of being killed by SARS.
After 41 days in underground cell, why is DSS still bent on convicting me over #EndSARS.

Imoleayo has seek the voice of fellow Nigerians and human right activists to help fight for his release.
