Former minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke has been linked another huge amount of money.
Sahara Reporters reports that, the anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has uncovered a whopping $72.8 million linked to the former minister.
This is coming two months after Diezani forfeited her bras and other valuables worth millions of dollars to Nigerian government over corruption allegation.
Recall that the former Minister of Petroleum Resources during president Goodluck Jonathan adminstration, Diezani has since been indicted for a $2.5 billion stolen fund from government purse while serving as minister.
She was said to have fled Nigeria to a foreign land shortly before President Buhari took the mantle of power from the Jonathan over a corruption allegation which she denied.
Anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has since been pushing for her extradition to Nigeria.
According to EFCC on Wednesday, a total amount of $72.i million was discovered in a Fidelity Bank account allegedly linked to the former minister.
The agency further states that, it has arrested a former Managing Director of the bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo who is also alleged to have connection to the money laundering scandal.
Olainfo learnt that, Okonkwo is currently the Chairman of First Bank Holding. He was arrested earlier with his accomplices by the anti graft agency over a sum of $153 million and $115 million.
The agency confirmed it has recovered the $153 million while the cases involving $115 million are still in various courts.
Okonkwo and his accomplices are currently being detained by the EFCC over the whereabouts of the new $72.8m.
